Family Pictures 1973-74

We first lived in Nanumea from June 1973 to early January 1975. During that time as part of our project we photographed every family on the island. In each photo some family members were not present: kids at school, young people working in the vao or out fishing, workers away on ships or in Funafuti, Banaba, Nauru, etc.

Family Pictures 1984

We returned in 1984. On this 5 month visit (late December 1983 to mid-May 1984) our young daughters, Nonu (Lorien) and Kilea (Claire), were with us. We again took a photo of each family in Nanumea. As before, some people are missing from the pictures.
