If something important is happening in Nanumea, it is usually happening in the island’s meeting place - te Āhiga

The Āhiga is used for Island-wide meetings, Hosting visiting delegations, Welcome and farewell parties, Festive community days (Children’s day, Day of the Choirs), Women’s groups, School Festivities, Faatele and other dances, Working groups, and much more. Below is a selection of such events in the Āhiga.
