Logan Cavanaugh’s Photos

Logan Cavanaugh served in the U.S. Army Air Force in 1943 and was stationed for a time on Nanumea, where he served as a ground crew member for the B24 bomber “Ginny Lynn.”

Logan hosted a gathering at his home in the U.S. state of Washington in June 2010 for two Americans whose fathers had also served at Nanumea, but had died there or while flying from there. Keith was invited to this meeting and showed slides of current day Nanumea and answered questions about life in Nanumea and Tuvalu. Meeting Logan and the others (whose fathers had died in Nanumea during the war) was a moving experience. Thank you Logan Cavanaugh, r.i.p.
