We will add to the items available here as time goes on - check back from time to time.

Heirs of Tefolaha - Keith Chambers  (1984)
(13.56mb pdf, 345 pages)   Keith's PhD dissertation (pepa faka oti). A large file which may take a few minutes to load if you have a slow connection.  It shows how Tefolaha and traditions of the founding of Nanumea and its chieftainship continue to be of importance in today’s society. Provides historical detail on the chiefly system, aliki maga, kopiti groups, and Tefolaha as a former god who has become a secular patron of Nanumea. Many leading elders of Nanumea in the period 1973-1984 were interviewed as part of the research leading to this book.

Unity of Heart - Anne and Keith Chambers  (2001)
Because this book is in print (Waveland Press, 2001, 283 pp) and is under copyright to Waveland Press, we cannot provide the full text here. But you can see some of the pages using the link above to the book on Amazon.com.

Pehe Lotu a te Aogapehe Faafine Nanumea  (2003)
(5.8mb pdf)   A collection of 93 "Hymns of the Nanumea Women's Choirs" written by the women of Nanumea. The songs were then compiled by Faanumi Haulagi, who gave them to us in 1996 in handwritten form. Back in Oregon, Ane had them typed and she designed a small booklet for them. That booklet is here. We tried hard to be sure there there were no mistakes, but there may be some errors in the transcriptions. Please let us know if you can help correct any of these hymns.

Five Takes on Climate and Cultural Change in Tuvalu (2007)
(4.2 mb, pdf)   A review of five films about climate and cultural change in Tuvalu, published in The Contemporary Pacific (University of Hawaii) vol. 19:1, pp. 293-306.
